Fireworks

I want to see Christmas arrive in spring

Fireworks for dreams:

Once you were a child hopeful, teaming

With Love and all that’s born within

The world an oyster worth discovering

Someday you will become like me

Wrinkled, wizened and yearning,

Longing for days long gone when we were young

Narry a pain or gloom to darken our world

Except for fireworks.

Take Me

Take me to a place where life is free:

The choices are green

The trees never shed their leaves.

Take me to a place where I can hold your face:

Dress you up in nothing but lace

This feeling we share never will it be replaced.

Take me to a world that knows no hate:

Where Love is heaven’s only gate

I’ll take sugar for my tea any day.

Keep me in your heart, don’t let me slip away:

Say that you want me to stay

I have miles to go, but with you in this place

Is where I choose to remain.
