Dusk falls on a city street
I am the homeless without shelter
Or a destination planned
Perhaps you have gone my way before
You have seen my face
But knew not how famous I am
To the world I’m a citizen at large
Destitute and hungry
If only I can snatch that piece of bread
From your laden table
If only you remember my name.
